#10 Fashion Video Final

#9 New Show Formats

It is almost a given that with changing times and technology, sooner or later everyone would want to be part of the craze. Fashion shows for the past couple of years have been picking up on this. In 2011 Burberry gave the fashion industry and the world something so unique and brilliant its almost unreal. Burberry used a combination of holographs and real life models to show their fashions.

#8 LookBook

This is a video of H&M SS 2011 lookbook for their men's line. A lookbook is basically a number of looks put together that show a line and what outfits you can put together from the separate garments of the line. Designers many time use lookbooks as a chance to show what the vision was for their line. Mainly lookbooks are a compilation of photographs, i think doing a video is a rally great way of doing a lookbook because in photos you can't see the movement in clothes. Also in this video the models are walking so you get a chance to see the entire outfit, front and back. overall i really liked this video, i chose the men's line because in men's clothes there aren't many different ways to wear certain garments but this can give the H&M customer different ideas.

#7 Trunk Shows

Like many other girls, I've always had an image or idea about what i want my wedding dress to look like, and searching for that dress you've always imagined can be pretty tough. Trunk shows are an event where a designer or a representative bring an entire line to a store and sit with brides showing them the line and discussing which silhouettes would best suit them. Trunk shows are very popular in the bridal industry. It gives brides shopping for wedding dresses a chance to get the designers input. Many times at a bridal trunk show a designer will talk to the bride and suggest specific dresses that will accentuate her best features. They also give the bride a chance to communicate with the designer about any changes they would like made to the dress, and if they can be made. Along with benefiting the bride, trunk shows help a designer to get direct feedback about the line. Designers get to speak to customers and ask them what it is they like or don't like about the line or a specific dress. Below i posted a short video explaining what you can expect from a bridal trunk show.

#6 Fashion Video

This video, of the Missoni Spring/ Summer 2012 Fashion show was very inspiring to me. I am very interested in the "behind the scenes" aspects of things. Of course getting to see the runway show is amazing and beautiful but there is always lots of hard work and many decisions that go in to such a big event. I liked seeing the inspiration for the make up and hair and seeing how the artists created the looks. Going behind the scenes and getting an inside look gives a different perspective then maybe you had imagined. Its always interesting to see what you thought of a certain look or show and seeing what the designers inspiration was for the same look or show. In this case, after watching the video, we can paint a story in our head, we see a girl who has been dancing all night, therefore the hair and makeup is a little "dirty" and "sweaty" looking. In many ways, fashion videos not only show us what we don't see when watching a show, but it shows us movement. In pictures you can't really see the movement in a gown, how it flows or moves etc. Videos bring everything  together, they show us overall what the purpose of the features are, for example: ruffles or feathers or slits. Fashion videos are meant to put you in a certain mood or make you feel a certain emotion. The music choices and layout of the video along with the videos content is all a part of the overall inspiration for the line.

Wearing a red dress, red pants, red shirt, red shoes, red scarf etc., you just cant go wrong. At the 2011 Emmy Awards this September there was no doubt that red was the most popular color.
